Transforming Our Ideals

Love is our Doctrine and Service is our Prayer
Our Unitarian Universalist Principles call us to affirm and promote:

  • The inherent worth and dignity of every person
  • The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;
  • Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.

We are a Welcoming Congregation and supported the campaign to establish full marriage equality Vermont.

As part of our offering, we collect non-perishables for the Food Shelf at the Springfield Family Center each week.   Once a month, our Share the Plate offering donates funds to organizations and causes.   In 2016-2017, we made donations to: Springfield Art Gym, Xaverian Brothers’ Haitian Ministry, Dismas of Vermont, Springfield Warming Shelter, the World Food Program, Springfield Area Parent Child Center, Greater Falls Warming Shelter, Community Asylum Seekers Project, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, Springfield Kids Garden Project, and Rural Vermont.  To date in 2017-2018 we’ve donated to: Migrant Justice, Tostan, Black River Action Team (BRAT), Kids Garden Project, Oxfam America, the World Food Program and the Winter Center for Indigenous Traditions.

We have hosted North Springfield Action Group (NoSAG) meetings to protest the building of a major Bio-mass plant in our town.

In November, 2011, we initiated Occupy Springfield protests as we joined with the 99% to make our voices heard on income inequality.
