Book Discussion: “The Book of Delights” by Ross Gay, Sunday, February 23, 11:45 am

Our February selection is a collection of short essays describing daily delights during a single year in the author’s life.. He records the small joys that are often overlooked in our busy culture. It’s the perfect remedy for cabin fever!  Feeling overwhelmed by the barrage on negative and upsetting news?  This uplifting collection will help You train yourself to notice what’s delightful in your own life, and in so doing, help You feel more appreciative and resilient.  The book has been highly recommended by both Buffy and Charis Boke. A few copies of the book are for sale at the Meetinghouse at our cost, $12 each. If interested please pay Deb in the church office.
Deb Diegoli and Tina Feindel will facilitate the discussion.

To give Yourself a lift right now, here’s a link to a 4 minute clip of the author talking about and reading from the book. It’s really lovely!!

Last year, a bunch of us read “How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression and Transcendence.”, as part of the Meetinghouse Book Group. We were so impressed by the book that some of us are continuing to meet and discuss.  On Feb. 9, we’ll watch a short half an hour video, hopefully hear from one among us who recently did an ayahuasca ceremony, discuss possibly bringing a Holotropic Breathwork person to speak at the Meetinghouse, consider books and article for future reading, and whatever else is on you heart and mind.  All welcome.  For more info, contact Rev. Mellen,
