Climate Action

A Meetinghouse Climate Group was started in late September of 2019.  While acknowledging that all climate issues are related and intersect with issues of race, gender, sexual orientation, class and health, we are a small group and need to choose a focus.  At this point we are primarily interested in regenerative agriculture and transportation. As others join the group, this could expand.

We explored becoming a node of 350VT; however, that organization currently asks that additional nodes not be formed but, rather, that folks work with existing nodes.  We have connected with Mountain Valley Climate Action (MVCA)in the Chester area.

At the Meetinghouse we’re showing films about climate change and resilience, with discussions following,  including:

“An Inconvenient Sequel,Truth to Power”  with Carol Stedman (May 2019)

“Paris to Pittsburgh”  with  VT Interfaith Power & Light and panel discussion (November 2019)

“Dancing With the Cannibal Giant: New Stories for the Great Transition” with Executive Producer Chris Wood, Scheduled for January 3, 2020, 7 pm
